We
are doing this research for the different types of motor that can be used to
get the required bond in the fly ash stabilized brick .We should check the
characteristics that should be there in motor to the bond strength we need.
Bond between masonry and mortar remains intact at the time of failure of the
masonry unit or mortar for this study the influence of bond strength on fly ash
stabilized mud concrete block compressive strength should be examined through
an experimental program using fly ash blocks and mortars. A relationship
between the masonry prism compressive strength and bond strength should be
obtains through this study. The surface roughness of the material is considered
in this case.

 

Problem Statement

 

Now
the fly ash bricks compressive strength experiments was carried out in the
previous year but to use those bricks in masonry works we should carry out experiments
to find the suitable motor to give the best strength. That problem should be
overcome through this work. We have to determine the motor mixture which is
suited according to the surface roughness of the brick. Compared to the normal
cement bricks and clay bricks the surface roughness is very low. The mortar
mixtures and proportions we use in normal constructions will not be effective
on this. To overcome this problem we should find out a new mortar mixture to
meet our shear strength and flexural strength parameters.

 

Significance of the research

Scope of the Study

 

Research
is carried out to study the mortar mixture which is suitable for this fly ash stabilized
mud concrete blocks. The whole research is about the mortar mix. Issues like
compressive strength and flexural strength of the masonry done using this
mortar is tested and results are analyzed.

There
may be shortcomings in preparing the mixture with the planned mix proportions.
And the masonry constructed may not be the same in testing because they are
been constructed by people.

 

Aims and objective

 

General
objective is to obtain a relationship between the masonry prism compressive
strength and bond strength should be obtains through this study. For that the
tests mentioned in the scope should be followed. Finally should obtain the
suitable mix proportion of the mortar mix in an economical way. Not only has
the strength of the material but also the roughness of the surface affected the
experimental results.

 

 

Proposed Methodology

refer the literature review enough to do the research

make fly ash stabilized mud concrete blocks according to their given
methodology

Ø  Should build fly ash
stabilized masonry units and different mortar combinations to check the
followings.

a.      Compressive strength of the masonry work

b.      Water absorption of the mortar

c.      Initial rate of absorption of the mortar

d.      Flexure strength of the masonry work

e.      Secant modulus at 25% of ultimate stress

 

Ø  Then should test strength of
masonry unit bond and mortar type’s strength.

Ø  A relationship between the
masonry prism compressive strength and bond strength should be obtains through
this study.
